It was on early December 2010 when I landed in Wilson airport in Kenya then I visited masaai mara, it was my best summer vacation ever. I happened to interacted with maasai community surrounding the hotel that I was booked in ,they are known in the world to have maintained their rich culture up to modern times ,there are so many lions but the young maasai warriors don,t fear them they actually run after them and kill a lion with bear hands or sometimes a spear ,the amazing thing is that they feed on animal blood and milk.

I liked their culture so much and I was endorsed as one of the young maasai warriors called Moran through a circumcisions ceremony where young men pass from one stage to another stage of life, I had to be cut on my low belly with an initiators knife, while drinking a mixture of blood and milk .To proof you are a gentleman you had to stand still as the initiation was carried out.

I enjoyed that summer vacation eating wild fruits and bush meat, climbing mountain, hunting antelope, wild beest and coaching Maasai people basket ball. The last day I was given a spear and a skin shield and a goat as a present, then I was escorted to the air port it was my best summer vacation ever spent .I would like to go Maasai Mara again in the land where obama father was born.

Spending summer in Africa, a trip to Maasai Mara in Kenya, changed my life and i had the best moment in my life meeting people of a total different culture was amazing
