Read Mike Collins autobiography, A Few Steps Too Far, and it strikes you that this is one man who has left his indelible footprint on the world. His adventures at home have been many and hes sought out incredible experiences in a lifetimes worth of travels. And not one to slow down, in his 78th year it was a combination of good writing and good fortune that led him to an Intrepid Nepal trip. As an added bonus (to me) Kipling provided one Alcatraz II Backpack for my consideration (this is called full-disclosure).

Unlike the past week, today we are greeted by an open sea. Gone is the constant ploughing through the dense ice pack of the Arctic Ocean behind us in the North.
Planning for the eventual departure and release from the hold by the pristine ice pack that has surrounded us, I spent multiple hours last night on deck looking out on the ice field trying to fixate this corner of the world to memory. Goodbye to that vast carpet with its thick multiple layers of ice.
